Who is the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association?

The German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVK) is the central voice of the private equity and venture capital industry in Germany. We represent the interests of our members in dealings with policymakers and the media while emphasizing the importance of private equity for the German economy. Through continuous market analyses, we identify changes early on and respond proactively. Additionally, we foster exchange among our members to strengthen the private equity industry’s network in Germany.

The BVK brings together around 300 members, including approximately 200 investment companies in venture capital, large buy-outs, and growth financing. Institutional investors are also part of our network, along with about 100 additional members, including consulting firms, service providers, and other institutions that collaborate with investment firms.

Our association is headquartered at Reinhardtstraße 29b, in the heart of Berlin’s government district. The BVK’s office is led by Ulrike Hinrichs, who serves as the association’s spokesperson and managing board member.

The BVK board consists of eleven voluntary members, in addition to Ulrike Hinrichs, representing different sectors of the association and actively engaged in the private equity industry. The board spokespersons are Ulrike Hinrichs and Dr. Ingo Krocke. The structure is further complemented by a Legal Advisory Board, composed of renowned legal experts specializing in financial market and tax law, who provide advisory support to the BVK.
